Sausages wrapped in bread are available every Friday with the proceeds going to our senior camp fund.  A small fridge is available to the children to keep food cold.

No eggs in lunches please.

UNIFORMS

With their stationery at the beginning of each year, children are given a school uniform. The hireage fee of $10 per year is paid with the school stationery. Children are expected to wear the uniform when representing the school at various events.  A school bucket hat is purchased when a child first enters school.

POOL

The swimming pool is open outside of school hours, to parents of children attending Hiwinui School and members of the community. Keys are available from the office priced at $40 for parents and $60 for community members. This money goes towards the cost of day to day maintenance of the pool.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

This is a scheme which provides children with books at a reasonable price. There are two book offers each term. If you wish to purchase books please return the order form with the correct money in an envelope to the office.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Class and team photographs are taken each year, usually in September / October. Families are given the option of having individual and/or family group photos taken.

LIBRARY

All children are encouraged to make use of the books for pleasure and study. Books are to be returned at the end of the two-week period. Finished books should be brought back to school promptly so that other children can read them. Please encourage your child to be careful with library books, as there is personal enjoyment in reading from well looked-after books.

LOST PROPERTY

ALL CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR SHOULD BE NAMED. Please encourage your child to check for lost property regularly and feel free to do the same. Our lost property is kept in a purple wheelie bin in the Room 4 corridor.
