LUNCHES

Children are supervised outside if fine, or inside if wet, cold or too windy. Children may have their lunches heated in the pie warmer provided they are well wrapped in foil or oven bags and labelled during terms 2 and 3.

UNIFORMS

You can order online at NZ Uniforms in Palmerston North for School hats and Hiwinui event tops. Children are expected to wear the uniform when representing the school at various events. At events students are asked to wear their event T-shirts with plain black bottoms (no logos and stripes). Please clearly name all items of clothing. A school bucket hat is purchased when a child first enters school and when a child needs a replacement.

POOL

The swimming pool is open outside of school hours, to parents of children attending Hiwinui School and members of the community. Keys are available from the office priced at $80 for school families and $100 for community members. This money goes towards the cost of day to day maintenance of the pool.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

This is a scheme which provides children with books at a reasonable price. Families are able to purchase books via the Scholastic website, or via the Book Club LOOP app.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Class and team photographs are taken each year, usually in September / October. Families are given the option of having individual and/or family group photos taken.

STATIONERY

Stationery is invoiced to families at the start of the year as these are preordered by class teachers.

LOST PROPERTY

ALL CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR SHOULD BE NAMED. Please encourage your child to check for lost property regularly and feel free to do the same. Our lost property is located outside the library.
